Will County Commercial Property Owners Invited to Energy Efficiency Program Informational Session

Will County will join the Illinois Energy Conservation Authority to host an information session for commercial property owners on the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program on Monday, October 25. C-PACE is a program that offers low-cost, long-term financing to local businesses for energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, electric vehicle charging and other clean energy projects.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and representatives from the Will County Resource Recovery and Energy Division, Will County Center for Economic Development, the Illinois Energy Conservation Authority, and a C-PACE program participant will share with attendees more information about the program, how they can benefit from it, and how they can begin the process to receive financing for clean energy initiatives.

“We encourage any commercial property owner in Will County to attend this event to learn about this available financing,” Bertino-Tarrant said. “This is a unique program that will enable commercial property owners to invest in energy efficiency upgrades that will yield savings now and well into the future, while also protecting our natural resources.”

The event will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., on Monday, October 25 at the IBEW Local 176 West Banquet Hall, 1100 NE Frontage Road, Joliet, IL. To register for the event, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/will-county-c-pace-information-session-tickets-183613030517?aff=pdfinvite.

Will County established a C-PACE program in November 2020 as a financing mechanism for the State of Illinois’ C-PACE program. Illinois is one of 37 states in the nation to offer this financing. The Will County program will work with commercial property owners to offer fixed-rate interest, long-term financing for energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, and resiliency projects on commercial and industrial properties. Examples of these projects include insulation in walls, roofs, floors and foundations, solar thermal energy systems, and storm water mitigation infrastructure.
