Welcome to Will County, Illinois Website

Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant Will County Executive

I am honored to serve as your Will County Executive. As a lifelong resident of this great county, I have witnessed many changes as we have evolved from an ag-community to a major hub in the global distribution market.  I am dedicated to building upon this status but I am equally dedicated to maintaining the quality of life for the nearly 700,000 residents and thousands of businesses and organizations that call Will County home.

Please explore our website which is filled with important information about services and departments within the County Executive office as well as connections to other county officials’ websites.

Will County is diverse, vibrant, and filled with hard-working people. We have room to grow and we look forward to a great future.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event to be held March 14 in Homer Glen

The Will County Land Use Department is partnering with the Village of Homer Glen to host a free one day Household Hazardous Waste collection event from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14. This event is open to all Will County residents by appointment only.

During this event, residents can bring unwanted household chemicals such as oil-based paint, stains and varnishes, oil, antifreeze, old gasoline, brake fluid, pesticides, fertilizers, cleaning products and more. Mercury and most mercury containing items will also be accepted. This event is a great way for residents to remove hazardous chemicals from the disposal stream and prevent potential impacts to their local environment.

Due to the limited amount of appointments available, participants attending the event will be limited to the following: one vehicle per appointment, 15-gallons of latex & oil based paints & stains per vehicle and 15 fluorescent tubes or light bulbs per vehicle.

To make an appointment and see a full list of the items accepted, please visit www.willcountygreen.com. You will be advised of the collection location when registering. Assistance in making the appointment is available by calling (815) 727-8834.
