I am honored to serve as your Will County Executive. As a lifelong resident of this great county, I have witnessed many changes as we have evolved from an ag-community to a major hub in the global distribution market.  I am dedicated to building upon this status but I am equally dedicated to maintaining the quality of life for the nearly 700,000 residents and thousands of businesses and organizations that call Will County home.

The Will County Office Building will be closed on Thurs. Nov. 28 and Fri. Nov. 29 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Normal business hours will resume on Mon. Dec. 2.

The Mobile Workforce Center of Will County’s December schedule has been announced.

The Mobile Workforce Center of Will County’s December schedule has been announced. The mobile unit travels throughout Will County to help residents with resume development, cover letters and job applications. The workforce center contains 11 computer stations, internet access, and offers keyboarding lessons, as well as resume and job search assistance using online listings including www.jobs4people.org and Illinois WorkNet.

America Recycles Day Nov. 15

Will County Executive Walsh reminds residents of importance of responsible recycling

Since 1997, America Recycles Day has increased awareness of both recycling and buying recycled products. This year’s America Recycles Day is Friday, November 15 and Will County is joining communities across the nation to encourage residents to focus on basic recyclables: plastic bottles, jugs, and tubs; glass bottles, steel and aluminum cans, empty cartons, and varieties of clean dry paper such as newspapers and cardboard boxes.

During a meeting of the RUSH (Residents United for Safer Highways) held Thursday night at the New Lenox Village Hall, transportation experts and the Will County Executive’s staff explained plans and ideas to manage heavy truck traffic and improve safety on roadways in the region.
