JOLIET – In honor of Military Appreciation Month, the Workforce Center of Will County will add an extra hour for veterans only to its weekly job fair on Tuesday, May 14.
Veterans are invited to attend from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. All job seekers are welcome from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The event will be at the Workforce Center of Will County.
Among the positions available are diesel mechanic, general laborers, warehouse associates, wire worker, yard worker, welder, customer service representative, forklift operators, HVAC service/installation technician, machine operators, maintenance technicians, production manager, maintenance clerk, maintenance worker, production worker.
Also, order selector/unloader, warehouse packer, order selector, production line worker, electronic bench technician, light industrial worker, material handler, quality control analyst, shipping associate, on-call nanny, tutors, case manager, community support associate and direct support professional.
WCWC Manager Susan Flessner said the events allow job seekers to meet with several employers at once.
“Someone looking for a job can make many contacts in one day and employers are able to interview people on the spot,” she said.
The weekly events are held at the Workforce Center of Will County, 2400 Glenwood Ave., Suite 100. The day and times vary.
Will County Executive Larry Walsh encourages job seekers to be prepared to take advantage of the weekly events.
“The Workforce Center of Will County is the place to go to find a job,” he said. “Susan Flessner and her staff work hard to organize these weekly job fairs that bring multiple employers to one location at one time.”
