JOLIET – Workforce Services Division of Will County and the Illinois Department of Employment Security are teaming up to host a weekly job fair. WSD Administrative Manager Susan Flessner said the change is designed to make it easier for job seekers to meet with several employers at once. “In the past, we used to host recruiting events for businesses, and the Illinois Department of Employment Security used to host events, too,” Flessner explained. “At these new joint events, all of the businesses interested in recruiting here at the Workforce Center of Will County can attend one event and see more job seekers than they would see at an event hosted just for them. “Additionally, job seekers only have to make one trip per week to the Workforce Center to talk with multiples businesses about multiple jobs.” The weekly events will be held at the Workforce Center of Will County, 2400 Glenwood Ave., Suite 100. The day and times will vary. From 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, businesses will be looking for crew members, drivers, forklift operators, general laborers, machine operators, material handlers, package handlers, pickers/packers, restaurant managers, security officers and warehouse associates. Will County Executive Larry Walsh, whose office oversees WSD, encourages job seekers to be prepared to take advantage of the weekly events. “As they say at Workforce Services, bring your resume, dress for success and be ready for an interview,” he said. “The weekly events will be the beginning of a new work life for many, and if you’re looking for a job, being prepared could mean that will be you.” For additional information about Will County’s WSD, go to www.jobs4people.org.
