Will County invites everyone to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day while at home
JOLIET –Will County is offering residents a way to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day while sheltering in place. Simply use your computer to click on the www.WillCountyEarthDay.com passport.
The Will County Land Use Department’s Resource Recovery and Energy Division, along with the Forest Preserve of Will County, the Will County Health Department and the Will County Regional Sustainability Network spent months planning a paper and on-line passport filled with activities for residents of all ages to enjoy.
With the shelter in place order, planners changed activities to those which can be done at home. Each environmental event or activity featured generates a point towards a raffle drawing to add to the entertainment.
Raffles are being held four times, with entry being automatic once a participant earns 15 points. Each prize is valued at $50 or more, and all prizes have been donated by local businesses interested in encouraging more environmental practices.
Join today; the first drawing will be on May 2. For more information about other events, visit the website www.willcountygreen.com.
