Joliet Slammers to Host Water Conservation Night with Will County and the City of Joliet
Will County is partnering with the Joliet Slammers and the City of Joliet to host Water Conservation Night when the Slammers play the Gateway Grizzlies on Tuesday, July 23 at 6:35 p.m.
Tickets are only $2 each when purchased in advance of gameday or $3 each at the door.
Staff from the Will County Resource Recovery and Energy Division of the Will County Land Use Department will be present on the concourse offering information about the environmental and financial importance of conserving water, games and crafts for kids, and to collect water conservation pledges. Residents who take a water conservation pledge will enter a raffle for rain barrels, a compost bin, and home water conservation kits.
“This annual event helps raise awareness of how we use water in our everyday lives and ways to conserve this vital resource,” said Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant. “Thank you to the Joliet Slammers for hosting this special night at the ballpark again and to our partners who are helping to raise awareness about water conservation.”
Other organizations present include, Joliet Junior College, Conservation Foundation, Home Depot, Illinois Environmental Council, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, Illinois Sections American Water Works Association, and the Grand Prairie Water Commission.
The game will be held Duly Health and Care Field, 1 Mayor Art Schultz Drive. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the game will begin at 6:35 p.m.
