Will County to Hold Annual Textiles and Small Home Goods Collection May 8-12

Will County will hold its annual week-long textile and small home goods collection May 8-12 at the County Office Building, 302 North Chicago St. Items will be accepted in the building parking lot between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily, with extended drop-off hours from 5:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 12.

In response to the evolving issue of the coronavirus or COVID-19 around the world, Rhonda Novak, the Will County Supervisor of Assessments, has announced a delay in the mailing and processing of all renewal exemption applications including the 2020 Senior Freeze Exemption and the 2020 Disabled Person and Disabled Veterans renewals and new applications.

Naloxone training to be offered at 2019 Hero Helps Summit on May 3

Naloxone training to be offered at the 2019 Hero Helps Summit at noon on May 3 at the Edward Hospital Athletic and Event Center at 55 Phelps Drive in Romeoville.

Participants will receive two doses of free Narcan and a certificate at the end of this training. There is no charge for the training but participants are required to pre-register at www.herohelps.org.

JTHS Hosting Wake Up Call Substance Abuse Awareness Event

Joliet Township High School will host a Wake-Up Call Substance Abuse Awareness Event on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6:30-8:00 PM at Joliet West High School, 401 N. Larkin Avenue. The event is free and open to all members of the public 21 years of age and older. Dinner will be provided from 5:00-6:15 PM and a resource fair will take place from 5:00-6:30 PM. Free childcare is available.
