The Will County Animal Control Department is providing the following information in conformance with the Freedom of Information Act 5 ILCS 120/1 et seq.
The Purpose of the Will County Animal Control is set forth by state statute at 510 ILCS 5/ Animal Control Act and the Will County Animal Control Ordinance.
Will County Animal Control is responsible for protecting the health and safety of the citizens of Will County by:
- Enforcing State and County Animal Control and Welfare Laws and Ordinances;
- Preventing and controlling rabies through rabies registration and bite investigations;
- Protecting animals from abuse and health hazards, particularly rabies;
- Promoting responsible pet ownership

Will County Animal Control has a staff of 12 full time employees and 1 part time employee. The approximate cumulative budget for FY2021 is $1,621,540.00.
