Will County Land Use Department

Personnel of the Will County Land Use Department are charged by the County Executive and the County Board to serve as the citizens' land use stewards, providing guidance and assistance for the lifecycle development of the built and natural environments within unincorporated and, in some instances, incorporated portions of the County. The individual and collective efforts of Land Use team members accomplish this charge through efficient and effective planning, regulatory and procedural systems that are applied in a transparent, consistent, equitable and courteous manner.

The department consists of four divisions: Administration and Enforcement, Community Development, Development Services, Resource Recovery & Energy (RR&E)

The Will County Land Use Department maintains a cloud-based permitting system.  Through this online system, contractors and applicants apply for permits, submit documents, schedule inspections, pay fees, print their permit, and view detailed information regarding their permits.  To access the Will County Land Use Department SmartGov Public Portal, please click on the link below.

Sealed bids shall be received by the Will County Land Use Department, Development Review Division, 58 E. Clinton Street, Suite 100, Joliet, Illinois 60432 until 3 o'clock p.m. local time on June 27, 2023 at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for:

Bid Documents: Entire bid packet shall be downloaded from the website, completed, and returned, as directed in the bid document. If pages are found to be missing or sections are left blank from the bid documents, the proposal shall be rejected.  Bid documents can be obtained from the Will County Land Use website at willcountyillinois.com or by emailing rdegroate@willcountylanduse.com.

Insurance: The successful bidder shall be required to purchase insurance as set forth in the General Conditions.

 

MBE/WBE Outreach: Women owned and minority owned contractors are encouraged to submit a proposal.

The County of Will and Will County Land Use Department reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Bids submitted may not be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days following the bid opening without written consent of the awarding body. All contractors MUST be registered with SAMs at www.sam.gov prior to submitting a bid.
