Job SummaryThe primary purpose of this job position is to assist families and residents with application and approval process for Medicaid. You will also assist in the day to day accounting functions of maintaining and managing resident billing and resident funds in accordance with acceptable accounting principles relating to long term care operations, and as may be directed/assigned by the Financial Supervisor. Explaining, applying, and helping families and residents through all application and approval process for Medicaid as well as all Medicaid duties relating to each residents case on a day to day basis. Assist in the day to day functions of managing the residents billing and resident funds. Maintain resident accounting records in accordance with all applicable long term care rules and regulations and all accounting practices. Prepare and process all Medicaid pending/private pay/patient liability/long term care insurance billing. Assist in monthly reconciliation of trust bank statements as directed. Assist in month end closing directed. Prepare and process all Medicaid re-determinations for residents. Monitor and follow up on all overdue AR accounts. Reports age’s accounts receivable to the Financial Supervisor for assistance if needed. Deal with the general public answering questions, providing information and assistance over the telephone, email, or in person.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent, must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in accounting or book keeping. Experience in long term care or health care preferred. Proficient in Microsoft office and Quick Books. Knowledge in Point Click care preferred. Must have exceptional problem solving, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills. Must be organized and able to monitor quality control as well as be able to adapt to a changing work environment. Must keep up on current Medicaid standards of practice.
Salary Range$33,411-$43,832 (C5-D7)
