Workforce Services moves to new location

JOLIET – Workforce Services Division of Will County opened at a new location at 2400 Glenwood Ave. on Monday, Nov. 23.

Administrative Manager Susan Flessner said the reason for the move is twofold.

Changes to the federal authorizing legislation, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, require the group to be located with several of its workforce partners. The facility will be known as the Workforce Center of Will County.

Also, WSD’s lease at the Renaissance Center, which is owned by Joliet Junior College, was ending soon.

Flessner said there are many advantages to the move. “The new location offers us the ability to be in the same location as several of our workforce partners, and we have more space to serve all of our customers – both job seekers and our business customers.”

A ribbon cutting will be scheduled at a later date. The telephone number, (815) 727-4444, will remain the same.

Workforce Services is under County Executive Larry Walsh’s office. For additional information about the Workforce Services Division of Will County, go to www.jobs4people.org.

The Will County Veterans Assistance Commission will open at the Workforce Center on Friday, Dec. 1.
