Will County to host tire collection event Saturday, Nov. 9
JOLIET -- The Will County Land Use Department’s Resource, Recovery and Energy Division will host a free tire collection event on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Will County Executive Larry Walsh said, “In addition to helping residents dispose of unwanted tires, the collection event also helps prevent mosquito breeding and the spread of associated diseases, such as the West Nile virus, by removing places where water can collect.”
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Will County Fairgrounds, 710 S. West St., Peotone.
The collection is open to Will County residents and those who live in a municipality that is partially in Will County.
Only car, tractor and small truck tires will be accepted. A maximum of 100 tires per donor will be allowed.
Business tires, industrial tires or off-road tires or heavily soiled tires will be not be accepted.
Also, participants must be able to unload their own tires.
