Land Use Department, Conservation Foundation team up to host webinar on rain gardens, barrels

JOLIET -- The Resource Recovery and Energy Division of the Will County Land Use Department will co-host a webinar with The Conservation Foundation at 1 p.m. Monday, April 12.

The Conservation Foundation’s Jamie Viebach will teach participants what a rain garden is and how to use one to the solve water issues in a yard, as well as to correctly hook up and use a rain barrel.  

The County’s Environmental Educator Joan O’Keefe said, “In this webinar, you will learn how rain gardens and rain barrels help you conserve water and protect our local streams and rivers.”

In addition, the Resource Recovery and Energy Division is co-hosting a rain barrel sale with Upcycle products. The rain barrels are made from used pickle barrels.
