Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant Will County Executive

I am honored to serve as your Will County Executive. As a lifelong resident of this great county, I have witnessed many changes as we have evolved from an ag-community to a major hub in the global distribution market.  I am dedicated to building upon this status but I am equally dedicated to maintaining the quality of life for the nearly 700,000 residents and thousands of businesses and organizations that call Will County home.

Please explore our website which is filled with important information about services and departments within the County Executive office as well as connections to other county officials’ websites.

Will County is diverse, vibrant and filled with hard-working people. We have room to grow and we look forward to a great future.

2024 Independence Day Celebrations Around Will County

It’s time to celebrate the 4th of July all across the country, and Will County’s GIS Division is here to help with an interactive map detailing the various festivals, parades, and firework displays being hosted by Will County communities.

Remember the following tips to staying safe and healthy this July 4th:

  • WEATHER SAFETY: Stay hydrated with water or sports drinks with electrolytes during hot weather or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Limit alcohol intake, and if you start feeling lightheaded, go someplace shaded and preferably with AC to cool off. Also, be aware of the weather forecast and any potential severe weather that could materialize when venturing out of the house.

  • ROAD SAFETY: Do not operate a vehicle if impaired. Remember: buzzed driving is still driving under the influence. Designate a driver, car pool if possible, and wear your seatbelt at all times to help reduce the number of traffic issues this holiday weekend.

  • PET SAFETY: Make sure your pets are safe and secured during evening hours, as every year the number of stray and lost animals increases during the 4th. Keep them inside and make sure your pets have identification tags on their collars and are microchipped to help them return home safely if they decide to flee from the scary fireworks in the sky!

Click here or visit the following link to view the map and see what community celebrations are going on around the county today and tomorrow. Thank you to the GIS team for their work on this map feature!
