The Veterans Assistance Commission Board (the Commission) consists of 26 Veterans Service Organizations' Posts from throughout Will County. Each has a Delegate and Alternate appointed from each Post to serve on the Commission. The Commission meets four times a year to conduct the business of the Commission, with each Delegate (or Alternate) present having one vote on policy matters and procedures pertaining to oversight and operations of the Veterans Assistance Commission of Will County.
The Veterans Assistance Commission Office is a separate Unit of Local County Government dedicated to providing financial assistance and protecting the rights of U.S. Military Veterans residing in Will County.
The Commission meets quarterly on the 2nd Monday in March, June, September and December. The meetings are held at 128 N. Scott St., Joliet, IL in the Veterans Assistance Commission of Will County offices. The public is always welcome.
The Veterans Assistance Commission Executive Committee directs the work of the Commission in the interim between regular meetings of the Commission. This committee decides matters of policy and action to be taken in emergencies arising between regular Commission meetings.
The Executive Committee meets on the 2nd Monday of January, February, April, May, July, August, October and November, excluding Monday holidays. The meetings are held at 128 N. Scott St., Joliet, IL in the Veterans Assistance Commission of Will County offices. The public is always welcome.
